Steve Tubbs is one of the few aurial tuner in Wyoming. An aurial tuner uses a tuning fork to tune for the middle C note then his ear to tune the remaining notes. This is different from a machine tuner who tunes using a machine for each note. The aurial tuning method takes several years to learn and perfect.
